Traditional Chinese Acupuncture in Great Yarmouth
Acupuncture is a gentle yet powerful therapy that has been refined over thousands of years. At Victoria's Acupuncture Clinic, I offer traditional Chinese acupuncture combined with complementary therapies to create truly personalised treatment plans.
My approach focuses on treating the whole person, not just isolated symptoms. By identifying and addressing the root causes of health issues, acupuncture can provide deeper, longer-lasting relief than treatments that simply mask symptoms.
Acupuncture
First Step
Beginning your acupuncture journey is simple and straightforward. The first step is either a brief telephone conversation or an email exchange where I'll gather some initial information about your health concerns. This helps me understand if acupuncture is suitable for your situation and allows you to ask any questions before booking your first appointment.
During this preliminary conversation, I'll explain how acupuncture might help with your specific condition and what you can expect from treatment. There's no obligation, and it's a chance for us to determine if we're a good fit to work together on your health goals.
Your First Session
Your first appointment is comprehensive and typically lasts 90 mins. This session includes:
This thorough approach ensures that your treatment is precisely tailored to your unique needs. Many people find the consultation process itself therapeutic, as it provides an opportunity to discuss health concerns in a holistic context.
Ongoing Treatment
For most conditions, I typically recommend weekly sessions for six weeks. This allows the treatment effects to build progressively and create lasting change. Chronic conditions may require a longer treatment course, while acute issues might resolve more quickly.
Each follow-up session lasts approximately 50 minutes and includes a brief review of your progress, followed by acupuncture treatment. I'll adjust your treatment plan as needed, responding to your body's changes and healing process.
As part of your ongoing care, I also provide lifestyle and nutritional advice to support your treatment and enhance your overall wellbeing.
What to Expect During Treatment
During an acupuncture session, you'll lie comfortably on a treatment couch while very fine, sterile needles are inserted at specific points on your body. The needles are typically left in place for 20-30 minutes while you relax.
Most people find acupuncture surprisingly relaxing and often report a sense of wellbeing after treatment. The sensations experienced during acupuncture vary from person to person but are generally described as a mild tingling, heaviness, or warmth rather than pain.
After treatment, you may notice immediate improvements in some symptoms, while others may gradually change over several sessions. I'll always provide clear guidance on what to expect and how to support your healing between appointments.
