About Me
Hello, I'm Victoria Pickering and my path to becoming an acupuncturist began with a personal journey and has evolved through years of education, travel, and a growing passion for holistic healthcare.
My interest in natural medicine developed after experiencing firsthand the limitations of conventional healthcare. I became increasingly aware that pharmaceuticals, while valuable in many situations, often come with side effects and don't always address the root causes of health issues. This realisation led me to explore more holistic approaches to wellness.
During my travels across different cultures, I was struck by the various traditional healing methods that have supported people for centuries. I became particularly fascinated by Chinese Medicine and its comprehensive understanding of the body as an interconnected system where energy (chi) flows through meridians, pathways that connect our entire being.
What truly resonates with me about acupuncture is its holistic and compassionate approach. Rather than simply treating symptoms, it addresses the root causes of health issues while considering the whole person: body, mind, and spirit. In my practice, I create a space where you are truly listened to and your unique health journey is respected.
My special interest in women's health stems from a personal journey with fertility concerns, which led me to discover the remarkable effectiveness of acupuncture in this area. I've seen how acupuncture can provide significant support for an array of women's health issues, including endometriosis, PCOS, irregular bleeding, hormonal imbalances, fertility challenges and more. So much so that many fertility clinics now recommend it alongside conventional approaches.
Today, I combine traditional acupuncture techniques with modern understanding, incorporating advice on lifestyle, nutrition, and the energetics of food to support your complete wellbeing. My goal is simple: to help you achieve balance and vitality through integrated medicine that treats you as a whole person, not just a collection of symptoms.
